Funeral services celebrating the life of Laura Mae (Bibbo) Solak, 95, of Newark, will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2026, with Deacon Eric Wright as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark.
Laura died on Sunday, March 1, 2026. She was born in Rayland, Ohio on November 9, 1930, to the late Antonio "Tony" and Anna (Antinori) Bibbo.
Laura, a 1948 graduate of Warren Consolidated High School in Tiltonsville, OH, was a homemaker and former office employee of the Belot Concrete Block Company in Tiltonsville. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Newark and a dedicated volunteer. She participated in the Women of St. Francis and served as a Girl Scout leader, den mother of her grandson's Cub Scout pack at St. Francis, and longtime cafeteria volunteer at Newark Catholic High School.
Laura will be deeply missed by her daughters, Debra (Kevin) Blake and Christina "Tina" Lock; grandson, Brandon Lock; sister-in-law, Frances Bibbo; several nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Bailey.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles W. Solak; their son, David; her brother and sister-in-law James and Phyllis (DiBacco) Bibbo; her brother, Raymond Bibbo; and beloved dog, Rocco.
