Obituary

Larry Michael Parr, 79, of Delaware, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025. He was born in Maryville, Tennessee on June 30, 1946, to the late Robert M. and Mary Edna (Downey) Parr.

A United States Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard Veteran, Larry was a 1964 graduate of Everett High School and received his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1968.

Following graduation, Larry moved to Columbus, and eventually to Newark, where he met his wife, Marcia, to whom he was wonderfully and happily married to for 41 years.

Larry was active in the building industry for nearly 40 years retiring from the Mid-Ohio Development Corp, Columbus, in 2022. He was active in the Newark community as member of the Board of Directors of the Newark Licking County Chamber of Commerce as well as Chairman of the Board. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and served as President of the Granville Rotary Club. Larry was also President of the Building Industry Association of Licking County, and longtime member of the Moundbuilders Country Club along with his wife.

Larry and Marcia moved to The Villages, Florida and were residents of the Village of Pennecamp for 12 years. They "traveled the world" while in Florida and loved listening to music on all the town squares and working on Larry's 4th "hole in one" on the many great golf holes in The Villages.

His passions included officiating High School Football for 35 years and was a member of COFOA. Larry's undoubted passion was flying, always eager to identify any aircraft flying overhead. He greatly enjoyed flying one of his several airplanes, alongside his great friend and partner, to get that $100 hamburger on a regular basis or the annual trip to Oshkosh. He was also a member of the Licking County Airport Authority Board of Directors

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughter, Jodi Parr; and brothers-in-law, Carl "C.R" (Chris) Litts and Tim (Ann) Litts; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Michal Parr; and sister-in-law, Mary A. Bennett.
