A Funeral Mass for Kenneth D. Freeman, 84, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 1, 2016 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Kenneth, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on October 30, 1931 to the late Karl D. and Melva (Pailliotet) Freeman.
Kenneth was a United States Army Veteran and retired from the Newark Air Force Base where he worked in guidance system repair. He enjoyed gardening and was a fixer of all things, repairing countless lawnmowers over the years. Kenneth also enjoyed visiting local yard sales with his wife, where together they would search for antiques and treasures for their consignment shop.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Loberta "Bert" (Burton) Freeman; his daughters, Melissa (Bob) Brant and Amy (Sam) Miller; his brother, John (Marsha) Freeman; sister-in-law, Margaret Freeman; five grandchildren, Caitlin and Seth Brant, Eric Stenger, Evan (Kayla) Miller, and Colin Miller; great-grandchild, Luke Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Freeman; his sister, Maryann (Gilbert) Ebel; and his nephew, David Ebel.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2106, at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
