Memorial services for Judith B. Pierce, 79, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, Monday, May 4, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. with Chaplain Jeff Smith as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4-7 P.M. prior to the funeral service.
Judith passed away at Riverside Hospital on Thursday, April 30, 2015. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on April 18, 1936 to the late Clifford Wayne and Estilene (Kidder) Bloomer.
Judith, a parishioner of the Second Presbyterian Church, was a member of Newark Rotary and the Taureams Investment Club. She was a Business Manager and General Manager of Times Mirror Cable Television, Cox Communications and Frontier CableVision. Judith served as a Board Member of Licking Memorial Hospital Health Systems (past chairman), Licking County Foundation, Midland Theatre and Unizan Bank of Zanesville, Ohio. In her spare time, Judith enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, bird watching, reading, playing the piano, spending time with family and friends and her beloved little dog, Cuba.
Judith is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robin Pierce of Cornell Clothing; her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Brook Baker of Heath; Christopher-Robin Pierce of Columbus; her daughters and son-in law, Karen London of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Amy and Tom Howell of Versailles, Kentucky; Emily Pierce of Lewis Center; her grandchildren, Megan Baker, Haley Judith Baker, Adam Baker, Michelle London, Hannah London, Teri London, Dylan Welch, Erica Robin Heckert and Christian Heckert; her sister, and brother-in-law, Susan and Ed Weinmen of Boise, Idaho; and very close friends, Carol and Patrick Guanciale.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Baker and her brother, James Bloomer.
