A Funeral Mass for Joseph R. Snively, 65, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 7, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

Joseph died at The Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2014. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on April 30, 1948 to the late George Arnold and Rose Catherine (Swiner) Snively.

Joseph was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was very active in his faith. He was a longtime member of the Fruit of the Vine Prayer Group and enjoyed sharing his musical talents on the guitar. He worked for many years as an x-ray and radiology technician at Licking Memorial Hospital until his retirement.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsie (Pittman) Snively, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Susan Ladd Snively of Charlotte, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Michael Ladd of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Abigail, Elyssa, Camryn, Sophia, and Samuel; his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Patrick Snyder of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Joseph M. Snively.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
