Graveside services for Joseph Eugene Montell, 81, of Heath will be held at New Lexington Cemetery, 11 A.M., Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with Deacon Patrick Wilson officiating.

Joseph died at Altercare Newark South on Saturday, November 1, 2025. He was born in Shawnee, Ohio on March 14, 1944 to the late Bernard T. and Laura G. (Seese) Montell Sr.

Joseph served in the United States Air Force and retired after working for many years at the Newark Air Force Base. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion and the Newark Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his siblings, Thomas Montell, Donald Montell, Marguerite Creech, Stephen Montell, Timothy Montell, Diane Earwood (Jim Stockmaster), and Jacqueline (Frank) Piper; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard T. Montell Jr.
