Calling hours for Joseph Lyle Horton, 69, of Heath, will be held at the REED EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 2-4 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2014. Graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.


Joe, a United States Army Veteran, died at his home in Heath on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 25, 1944 to the late Wallace L. and Clara (Cotten) Horton.

Joe attended Barber College and worked for many years as a licensed barber. He is survived by his children, Cathi (Edward) Singledecker and Johnny (Teresa) Horton; grandchildren, Matt Pancake, Tyler Pancake, Philip Horton, Sierra Horton, Sarah Ryan, Luke Horton, Danny (Jennifer) Adkins Jr., Katie Adkins (Josh Bowers), Seth Adkins, Karly Robb, and Cody Burch (Jackie Baker); and 5 great-grandchildren

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Claire Rubeck; and his infant sister, Grace Marie.
