Funeral services celebrating the life of John M. Wise Jr., 75, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 5:30 P.M. Thursday, July 19, 2018, with Fr. David Sizemore and Pastor Josh Pennington as celebrants. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 3:30-5:30 P.M. Thursday, prior to the funeral service.

John, a United States Army Veteran, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on September 13, 1942 to the late John and Cleora (Paisley) Wise Sr.

John was a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School and worked for many years as a pipefitter with Pipefitters United Association, Local 495. He attended More Life Church and was an avid race fan, attending many race weeks in Daytona.

He is survived by his sons, Keith (Jennifer) Wise and Scott Wise, and their mother, Linda (Quinn) Wise Frank; grandson, A.J. Wise; brother, David Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Lynn Wise; and grandson, Michael Craig Wise; and his beloved dog "Mr. Beaver"
