Funeral services celebrating the life of John George Radu, 94, of Heath, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 12 Noon, Thursday, December 29, 2022, with Deacon Patrick Wilson as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 10-12 Noon, prior to the funeral service on Thursday.

John died at his home in Heath, Ohio on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He was born in Newark, Ohio on December 23, 1928, to the late Leona (Popa) Radu.

A United States Korean War Veteran, John served 3 years with the Air Force and 4 years with the Marine Corps. He worked for many years as an appliance manager, and was with Sun TV, Heath, from it's opening until his retirement in 1986.

John met his future wife, Flora, during high school and the two were married at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and in later years became parishioners of St. Leonard Catholic Church. John embodied a strong work ethic and took great pride in the keeping of his home and yard. He enjoyed golf, rooting for the Cleveland Browns, and meeting up with friends for dinner or a game of cards.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Jayme Radu, Mitch Radu, and Ronda Galleher; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; aunt, Mary Hart; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Florangela (DelCecato) Radu; daughter, Joel Stanford; granddaughter, Michele Patterson; and sister, Constance (George) Franks.
