Funeral services for Joel Michele Stanford 58, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 16, 2017 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Joel, a 1977 Heath High School graduate, died at her home on Monday, February 13, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born in Miami Beach, Florida on November 7, 1958 to John Radu of Heath, and the late Florangela (DelCecato) Radu.

Joel enjoyed the vibrant colors of flowers and spending time in her garden. She was a fan of car shows and over the years had won several of her own trophies. Above all, Joel was a caregiver. She liked to cook for her family, and looked forward to their yearly visits to the beach. She selflessly provided for those around her, and was devoted to them daily. She was a loving and attentive wife, mother, daughter and sister, and most recently, a grandma.

In addition to her father, she is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, Jim E. Stanford; her children, Trent Stanford, Tyler (Lindsey) Stanford, Trey Stanford, and Tiara Stanford; her granddaughter, Brielle; her siblings Jayme Radu, Mitch Radu, and Ronda Galleher; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4-7 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
