Funeral services for Joan Poulson, 76, of Newark, will be held at the REED EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 7, 2013 with Pastors Waymon Malone Jr. and Michael A. Young as celebrants. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Columbus.
Joan died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She was born in Palmyra, NY on October 30, 1936 to the late Louis and Theresa (Bowe) Wizeman.
Joan attended Christ Cathedral Church and worked for 30 years at the Licking County Department of Job and Family Services. She volunteered as an adult guardian and was a GED Teacher.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Kellie Young of Columbus, Anne and Greg Russell of Columbus, Mark and Jeni Poulson of Carmel, Indiana, and Carolyn Greenan of Hawaii; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Kay and Mervin Lewis of Troy, and Margaret Wizeman of Niagara Falls, NY; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Diane Farley Caldwell.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Wizeman; and her sister, Patricia Diridoni.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11:30-1:00 P.M., Monday, prior to the funeral service.
