Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Jean Elizabeth Luzio, 96, of Heath, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Jean died at her home on Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was born in Fairborn, Ohio on May 22, 1920 to the late William E. and Anna Mae (Owens) Hume.

Jean was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament as well as The Sons of Italy Rinascimento Lodge. She worked for many years in sales at the Sears & Roebuck Company, Piece Goods, and Ulery's Greenhouse.

She was a very talented seamstress and over the years Jean created many intricate outfits for her family, often without the use of a pattern. She enjoyed knitting, as well as crocheting and quilting. Her embroidery work and needlepoint were fine touches added to these creations. She was devoted to her family as a mother and wife.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia J. Laskay, Linda J. Luzio and Yolanda J. (William) Black; her six grandchildren, Nicci (Chris) Gallivan, Michael Ater, Meggan Mangona, Allison Black, Lauren Black, and Alexis Black; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and many close friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley P. Luzio; her son-in-law, Alexander Laskay, her half brother, Lenyne Hume; and her sisters, Martha Mae (Edward) Vansickle and Marjorie Emma (George) Posan.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M., Monday, September 26, 2016 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:30 P.M.
