A Funeral Mass for Jay R. Deal, 40, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 23, 2016 with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Jay, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at the Newark Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born in Newark, Ohio on November 13, 1975 to the late Marvin and Delores (Lombardo) Deal.

Jay attended Newark High School and worked for many years in the horticultural field with Care Tree Systems. Most recently Jay worked in quality control for 31 Gifts. He was an avid card player, enjoyed visiting the casino, and loved spending afternoons riding his motorcycle.

Jay is survived by his siblings, Debby and (Doug) Warthen, Tim (Pam) Deal, Chad (Kara) Deal; his nieces and nephews, Dustin Warthen, Traig (Kelly), Addison, Audriana, and Ashlyn Deal; extended family Brittany Fulton and Brad Nixon and their families; and his beloved dog, Roxie. Jay also leaves behind a very large extended Italian family whom he loved to get together with and share great food and many laughs.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Scott Deal.

Friends and family may call from 5-7 P.M., Friday, April 22, 2016 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
