Obituary

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Jacqueline Lou Walker, 81, of Aiken, SC and formerly of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 6 P.M., Thursday, October 6, 2016, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Calling hours will be from 3-6 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Jackie passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 16, 1935 to the late Elbert and Imogene (Schonauer) Loughman.

Jackie, a naval military wife for 24 years, lived in numerous duty stations through the country and overseas including San Diego, Washington DC and Stockholm, Sweden. She worked as a legal secretary for 29 years in Washington, DC and was a resident of Alexandria, Virginia before moving to Aiken, SC thirteen years ago.

Jackie was a parishioner of St. John's United Methodist Church and her passions were traveling, reading and knitting. She will be remembered for the love she shared for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Walker; two daughters, Lori (Mark) Engle and Jennifer (Dan) Getzewich; one son, David (Molly) Walker; eight grandchildren, Alyssa Giannini, William Engle, Peter Engle, Christopher Getzewich, Diana Getzewich, Elizabeth Getzewich, David Walker, Max Walker; her sister, Sally (Jack) Weisent; and many nieces and nephews.
