A Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Harold F. Weekly Jr., 89, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 18, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Harold died in the loving comfort of his home with his wife, Mary Jo, and family by his side on Saturday, September 13, 2014. He was born in Union Station, Licking County, Ohio on April 29, 1925 to the late Harold F. and Goldie (Laughery) Weekly.

Harold, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, was a 1943 graduate of Hebron High School. He worked for many years in the golf industry, eventually retiring from Bob Toski.

Harold, a kind and gentle man, loved his family so very much. He was always willing to do anything to help his family with household tasks and washed many a dish. Harold enjoyed maps, gardening, working in the yard, especially cutting grass and shoveling snow. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed rooting for OSU.

Over the years, Harold and Mary Jo made numerous trips to the casino and spent many great times together. They enjoyed each others company, even if it was just sitting together watching the weather channel, one of Harold's favorites.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Mary Jo (Ritchey) Weekly, of the home; his daughter, Susan Weekly of Newark; his son, Dan Weekly (Larry) of Murray, Utah; grandson, Nate Charles of Newark; his brother, Paul (Lena Mae) Weekly of Newark; sisters, Shirley Smith of Heath, and Mary Lou Teasdale of Clinton, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Jim (Martha) Weekly, sisters, Nell (Del) Caughenbaugh and Jean (Codge) Davis; and brothers-in-law, C.R. Smith and Frank Teasdale.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.
