Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Geraldine "Jerry" M. Sutton Gressle, 96, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 8, 2016 with Fr. Jonathan Wilson and Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest, as celebrants. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Jerry, a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at Arlington Care Center on Thursday, February 4, 2016. She was born in Newark, Ohio on July 23, 1919 to the late Edward and Mary (Keeley) Duffy.

Jerry attended St. Francis de Sales High School and worked for many years as a home health aide with Interim Healthcare. She was an avid bowler and volunteered with Catholic Social Services.

She is survived by her children, Linda Radliff, Sharon Carpenter, Susie (Wendell) Stalling, and Connie (Steve) Park; 16 grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Lake, Holly Rehbeck, Darby (Abigail) Rehbeck, Casey Rehbeck, Allison (Dave) Shamell, Patrick Sutton, Max Sutton, Maria (Anthony) Hicks, Kim (Clayton) Fair, Amy (Brian) Jones, Jill (Dusty) Moore, Stacey Stalling, Wendy (Rick) Eblin, Jana (Jason) Crist, Kathleen (Steve) Stone, and Marcus Miller (Jessica Lage); 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; extended family Becky Shannon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Sutton; second husband, Dr. George A. Gressle; son, Thomas Sutton; infant daughter, Mary Ann Sutton; granddaughter, Gina Carpenter; grandson, Tyler Stalling; great-grandson, Chase Conley; son-in-law, Paul David Carpenter; and sisters, Mary Alice "Bobbie" (Roy) Pace and Anne Ralston.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 12 Noon - 4 P.M., Sunday, February 7, 2016 where a Vigil Service will be held at 3:30 P.M.

The family requests memorials in Jerry's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
