Frederick Blaine Jurden
Fred Jurden, 82, of Heath, OH passed away April 1, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born July 9, 1931 in Churchtown, OH to the late Wilfred & Agnes (Meiser) Jurden.
He's a retiree of the Newark Airforce Base with 23 years service. He also served his country in the United States Army attached to the Airforce at Elmendorf Airforce Base in Ankorage, AK from 1952-1954 during the Korean conflict. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed cheering for his grandson, Ryan Brett Jurden, of Heath High School's Varsity Baseball team.
Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen (McCreery) Jurden; his children Linda Fowls, Nancy Jurden, Jim (Joyce) Jurden, Joanna (Red) Vest, Mary Breneman, Bob (Lori) Jurden, and daughter-in-law Donna Jurden; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and another on the way; and many life-long friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by son, John Jurden, son-in-law, Corby Breneman, and seven siblings.
At Fred's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Heath Athletic Department, Attention Baseball, 300 Lickingview Dr, Heath, OH 43056.
The family would also like to give special thanks to the doctors and staff of Licking Memorial Hospital, Davita Cherry Valley Dialysis Center, and Executive Care, LLC who has taken such good care of Fred over the years.
