Funeral services celebrating the life of Frederick "Fred" Graff Seidler, 74, of Pickerington, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1 P.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with Fr. Sunder Ery as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11-1 P.M., Wednesday. Interment, following services, will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

Fred passed away at the Kobacker Hospice House on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1949, to the late Joseph John and Mary Catherine (Graff) Seidler.

A graduate of Rochester High School and Pennsylvania College of Technology, Fred started his early career with NCR in Cambridge, Ohio. He then worked as an electronic technician with the Newark Air Force Base for 23 years until it was privatized in 1996; he stayed on through the transition and ultimately retired from Boeing in 2021.

Known for his exceptional sense of humor and quick-witted personality, Fred was a person who always put others at ease. He was comfortable in any environment and could easily hold a conversation with anyone. He was also a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fred's family was his life, and he was truly happy when spending time with them. Whether he was road tripping in his Mustang, relaxing on the patio with friends, or learning something new from a documentary series, Fred understood the importance of keeping the "good things" close. He took pride in making a home, and as a fix-it-all handyman, no task was too daunting.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Barbara (Kane) Seidler; children, Kelsey (Hunter) Stamey and Grant (Nicole) Seidler; grandson, Jack Seidler; sisters, Joy (Alan) Reiter, Paula Cordes, and Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Heintz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave (Lisa) Kane and Janet (Neil) Beard; nieces and nephews, and many cousins and longtime friends.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Gary Cordes, Martin Heintz, and Mike Kane.

Memorials in Fred's name can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Nationwide Children's Hospital.
