A Graveside Service to honor Fred W. Obert, 69, of Newark, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Road NE, Newark, Ohio 43055 with Pastor Roger Conley officiating. On this special date, 50 years ago, Fred married the love of his life, Sue, to whom he was a fully devoted husband.

Fred passed away, peacefully, at his home in Newark on Monday, July 23, 2018. He was born on November 28, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Francis A. and Grace (Beaver) Obert. For 32 years, Fred battled MS but never complained. He worked for many years as a mechanic but solved many problems for his family and friends in addition to fixing their vehicles. Fred is celebrated for his honest and generous heart, quiet and gentle integrity, and the many gifts of the wisdom he shared throughout his lifetime.

Fred was the most honorable provider for his family and will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Linda 'Sue' (Justice) Obert; son, Eric Obert and his wife, Lisa, of Worthington, OH; brother, Steve Obert and his wife, Margaret; grandson, Nathan; along with his beloved 'Gibson Clan,' many relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Geiger.
