A Funeral Mass for Frances Arlene Sturgill Williams, 72, of Newark, will be celebrated with her family at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament with Fr. Jonathan Wilson presiding.
Fran, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at the Thornville Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, September 18, 2016. She was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1944 to the late George Fox and Edith (Patterson) Fox Smith.
Fran was a graduate of Newark High School and the University of Kentucky where she received a degree in Business Management. Most recently, Fran worked as the office manager at Licking Memorial Pediatrics. She was a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and enjoyed OSU football as well.
She is survived by her sons, Jason (Jaime) Sturgill and Justin (Traci) Sturgill; grandchildren, Hayden, Cain, Connor, Brittney (Dustin) and Clay; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Vaylin, Knox and Cayden; her siblings, Joe (Jill) Bending, Sandy (Joe) Brown, and Carol (Buz) Koehler; nieces and nephews, and extended family, Charlene (Don) McLaughlin and their families.
In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Joe" Williams; her step-father, Edward Smith; and nephews, Michael A. Bending and Joseph E. Brown.
