Funeral services for Florangela "Flora" Radu, 82, of Heath, will be held at the REED EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 21, 2013 with Fr. Michael Reis as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.


Flora, a parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on November 19, 2013. She was born in Newark on December 26, 1930 to the late Frank Louis and Jennie (Aureliano) DelCecato.

Flora was a 1948 graduate of Newark High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Radu of the home; her children Jayme Radu of Boise, Idaho; Mitch Radu of Knoxville, Tennessee; Joel (Jim) Stanford of Heath and Ronda Galleher of New Albany; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Doris DelCecato of Virginia; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Flora was preceded in death by her two brothers, Pete and Louis DelCecato.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9-11 A.M., Thursday, prior to the funeral service.
