A Mass of Christian Burial for Elenora J. Pape, 88, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 P.M., Thursday, December 2, 2021, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant and Fr. Adam Streitenberger as concelebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Elenora died at Hearth Brook Senior Living on Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was born in Granville, Ohio on November 17, 1933, to the late Frank and Elenora (Meiser) Rauch.
A graduate of Granville High School, Elenora worked at King's Department Store, Denison University and the former LPN Nursing Facility.
Devoted to her faith, Elenora was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and avid volunteer with their Ministry of Comfort, Newborns in Need, Women of St. Francis, ARC, and the Generations Newsletter mailings. She was a member of several card clubs, playing euchre and canasta for over 40 years with her longtime friends.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Michael (Theresa) Pape, Anita (Michael) Norris, and Catherine (Paul) Brill; 2 grandchildren, Noah Pape and Lucas (Catherine) Pape; sisters-in-law, Goldie Rauch and Mary Rauch; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elenora was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Pape; grandson, Nathan Pape; and siblings, Ruth (Gale) Strong, Katherine (Jim) Kissell, Clara (Henry) Bode, Eloise (Lester) Foster, Frank (Thelma) Rauch, Glenn Rauch, Howard Rauch, Eileen (Paul) Gray, and Mary (Howard) Wright.
Friends and family may call at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2021, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
