Funeral services celebrating the life of Eileen G. Bare., 87, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with Rev. Mr. Deacon Patrick Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Eileen, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was born in Liverpool, England on February 12, 1931.
Eileen grew up in an orphanage in England and traveled to the United States at age 21 to become a nanny. She was also employed by Licking Memorial Hospital for 25 years where she worked in central supply/ sterilized processing. Following her retirement from LMH, Eileen spent many years caring for the homebound as a home health and private duty aide. Her compassionate and giving nature made her a loyal companion for the many individuals that she cared for.
As an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan, Eileen had the privilege of witnessing one last Buckeye victory before her death on Saturday.
She is survived by her son, Rennie (Tracy) Bare; daughter, Tawna Bare; step-daughters, Karessa Miller and Joan Clark; grandchildren, Jagger Bare, Kelsie Martin, Chase Ramsey, Angie (Tony) Rose, Kaylee (Anthony) Ash, Austin Bare Hollingshead, Tanaya Bottomley; step grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Winters, Tri (Meg) Miller, Gary (Linda) Cunningham, and Mike (Kim) Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Liam, Brooks, Jaeden, Gianna, Makalynn, Keirria, Aeriawna, Traevin, and Adriana; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bare in 1988; great-grandson, Xavier Parish Finehout; step-son-in-law, Gene Miller; and step-grandson, Ray Cullison. Also preceding her in death was her dear lifelong friend from England, Betty Proctor, affectionately known as "Aunt Betty".
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4-7 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
In her memory, the family requests that memorials in Eileen's name be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, Ohio 43056.
