Funeral services with burial and full military honors for Donald Eugene Wehmeyer, 73, of Newark, will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, 11 A.M., Friday, March 18, 2022.

Donald, a Freemason, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  He was born in Fort Lewis, WA on October 11, 1948, to the late Henry James and Gladys Mary (Reynolds) Wehmeyer.

Don retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army serving over 20 years, including 3 tours during the Vietnam War.  Following his military career, Don worked as a journeyman and was employed by General Dynamics and several other companies throughout the states.  In addition, he also worked in auto sales and was awarded top salesman multiple years in a row.

He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Doris "Dee" Zumbro; children, Kathleen (Robert) Bright, Lori (Stuart) Cracknell, and Daniel (Jacqualine) Wehmeyer; step-children, Dreama (Scott) Noel and Mitchell (Sylvia) Slivo; grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Moore, Andrew (Erica) Anklowitz, Kristin Anklowitz, Nicole (Nick) Marino, Samantha (James) Hornback, Caitlin and James Wehmeyer; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Tony, Paully, Colt, and Hazel-Grace; step-grandchildren, Julia, Olivia, and Bryar.
