A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Donald A. Lusk Jr., 79, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 26, 2021, with Rev. G. Michael Gribble as celebrant, and Rev. David Sizemore as concelebrant . Inurnment will be held at a later date in Wilson Cemetery.

Don, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, February 21, 2021.  He was born in Newark, Ohio on September 12, 1941, to the late Donald A. and Mary M. (Ehlerman) Lusk Sr.

He was a proud 1960 graduate of Newark Catholic High School and attended Franklin University. He retired after 35 years with the JC Penney Company where during his tenure, Don and his family moved 7 times, all within the state of Ohio.

Don loved being outside in nature whether it was fishing, golfing, mowing the grass, or watching a ballgame all of the sights, smells, and sounds brought him great joy. He was an avid fan of Newark Catholic High School and a longstanding member of their Athletic Association.

Don will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Fran (Gaskella) Lusk; daughter Lisa Ford (Ken Carney); 4 grandchildren, Rachel (Rushing) Marchette, Jeffrey "Mason" Ford, Chandlar (Jordan) Bramlette, and Kylie Lusk; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Vivienne, Genevieve, Mariah, and Ruby; his twin sister, Donna Stasel; brothers, Michael (Beth) Lusk, Richard (MaryBeth) Lusk, David (Lindi) Lusk; and numerous nieces and nephews. To his great fortune, Don also lived a life surrounded by many close friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Don was unfortunately preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Allen Lusk; brother, Tom Lusk; and brother-in-law, Patrick Stasel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Interim Hospice, specifically Nanette, Amanda, and Carl who cared so tenderly for Don in his final weeks. Their comfort and care were immeasurable. Additionally, they would like to extend their Love and Thanks to all who cared so compassionately for Don at DaVita Cherry Valley Dialysis. The entire staff made his time there bearable and he spoke so highly of the kindness he received.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2021.  Masks are required and social distancing without lingering is requested.
