Graveside funeral services for Donald William Hoey, 97, of Newark, will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Columbus, 2 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2017 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant.
Don, a United States Air Force WWII Veteran, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Saturday, January 7, 2017. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 1, 1919 to the late William and Cora (Linderman) Hoey.
Don, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, received a BS in Engineering from The Ohio State University and was also a lifetime alumni. He was retired from the oil business and was a member of the National Gas & Oil Association for over 50 years.
Don was the best Dad in the world. His family includes his daughters, Donna L. Hoey, Marilyn Hoey (deceased); his grandchildren, Jackie (Ronnie) Cox, Holly (Mr. C) Coffield, and Brandy (Tim) Krak; his great-grandchildren, Cody Cox, Courtney Cox, Caleb Cox, Bryson Krak, Brody Krak, and Delaney Krak; his step daughter, Myra (Tom) Molnar and daughter, Maggie (Shawn) Luny; his step son, Don (Ann) Walters and daughters Emily and Rachele.
The family requests that no money be spent on flowers or plants, but rather a donation be made to help the poor.
