A Funeral Mass for Dennis Edward Curry, 67, of Heath, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 30, 2017 with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
A 1967 Newark High School graduate, Denny died at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born in Newark, Ohio on June 18, 1949 to the late homer L. and Mary Patricia (Ehret) Curry.
Denny was retired from ODOT where he worked in the traffic division. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and was an avid gun collector.
For many years, Denny volunteered as the cook of the Curry Christmas Dinners, which was started by his parents to help those in need of a meal on Christmas Day. Following the death of his father, Denny, with the help of his siblings, continued this family tradition.
Denny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet Kay (Linkous) Curry; his children, Patrick (Thurasa) Curry, Nickolas Curry (Angel Young, and her son Kain Young), and Angela (Joshua) Wolfe; his grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob, Linda, Katelyn, and Emilee; sister, Mollie (Larry) Phillips; brother, Richard "Lee" (Katie) Curry; sister-in-law, Linda Curry; brother-in-law, Lewis Peirce; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Patrick Curry; his sister, Georgeann Pierce; and his nephew, Jon Curry.
Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
