Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Denise Elaine Petticrew, 55, of Granville, will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 16, 2015 with Msgr. Paul Enke as celebrant.


Denise, a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, died at the Ohio State University Medical Center on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 after a series of illnesses. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 26, 1960 to Richard Roy and Kathryn Mabel (Laberdee) Hartman of Dundee, Michigan.


A graduate of Monroe County Community College, Denise also attended Eastern Michigan University, as she earned a degree in early childhood education and worked for many years in education and as a daycare Director. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid lover of craft shows and causes that fought animal cruelty. Denise's unrelenting determination and famous "Gung Ho Let's Go!" battle cry captivated and charmed all around her. All that knew her came to love her "whole bunches of lemonade!".


In addition to her parents, Denise is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jon Petticrew, of the home; her three children, Dawn Arndt (Brian Turner), Brad Petticrew, Joe Petticrew and his fiancé Kehley Hall; her three grandchildren, Dylan Arndt, Madelynn Petticrew, and Caleb Turner; her siblings, Deb Yoder, Renee (Patrick) Bracey, Gloria (Sam) Messner, Linda (Greg) Rodenbeck, Dennis Hartman; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Karen Petticrew of Hartland, Michigan; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tammy (Tom) Meisel, and Scott (Deb) Petticrew; ten nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.


Friends and family may call from 2-5 P.M., Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark where a Prayer Service will be held at 4:30 PM.


Denise's entire network of friends and family would like to thank the numerous health care providers that were instrumental in her care including Mt. Carmel East, Mt. Carmel West, St. Anne's, OSU Medical Center, Grant Medical Center, The Cleveland Clinic, and especially Dr. Norman Schwartz, Dr. Joseph Flood, Dr.Tim Anderson, Dr. Jane Emerick, Dr. Namita Sood, Dr. Bodo Knudsen, Dr. Dean Gladura, and Dr. Fred Alger.


The family requests that memorials be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter, 12930 Chippewa Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44141.
