A Mass of Christian Burial for Dean Arthur Moore, 73, of New Albany, formerly of Newark, will be celebrated at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:30 A.M., with Fr. Anthony Lonzo officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Dean passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Robert D. and Bertha (Taylor) Moore.
A graduate of Parkersburg High School, Dean built his career as a skilled carpenter in the construction industry. He was known for his unwavering work ethic and took immense pride in the quality of his craftsmanship, ensuring that every house he framed met his high standards.
Dean found joy in many pursuits, including playing golf, cheering for OSU and the Browns, and indulging in his passion for muscle cars and car racing—a love he shared with his brothers. Above all, Dean was a devoted family man. He was a cherished husband, a loving father and grandfather, and the proud eldest of 10 siblings. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured family gatherings – birthdays, weddings, holidays and especially his sibling reunions.
Dean's memory will be deeply cherished by his wife of 40 years, Maria E. (Reyes) Moore; his children, Derek, Vanessa, and Dean (Maria) Moore; his grandchildren, Alessandra and Deana Moore; his siblings, Steve (Donna) Moore, Debbie (Wayne) Kelley, Rex (Linda) Moore, Pam (Joe) Iaquinta, Barbara (Maurice) Shelton, Connie (Steve) Flak, Noah (Pauletta) Moore, Diane (Perry) Elliott, and Richard Moore; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Reed Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark Ohio, 4-7 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2024, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30 P.M.; and from 9-10 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2024.
