A Funeral Mass for Cyril M. Galmish, 82, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 11:30 A.M., Friday, May 16, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Cyril, a United States Airforce Veteran, died at his home on Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 28, 1931 to the late Albert and Helen (Kishok) Galmish.
Cyril was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was retired from Lowe's.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary (Isselstein) Galmish, of the home; his children and their spouses, Joseph and Susan Galmish of California, Michael Galmish of Canton, James and Stephanie Galmish of South Carolina, and Christine and Shawn Kirkwood of Mt. Vernon; his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Galmish of Dover; 13 grandchildren, Matt, Lauren, Nathaniel, Melanie, Alyssa, Brittany, Alanna, Aimee, Rachel, Meagan, Hannah, Alec, and Caitlyn; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Irene Galmish of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Cyril was preceded in death by his son, Gregory C. Galmish; his granddaughter, Julia Kirkwood; and his siblings, Irene, Bertha, Gertrude, and Edward.
