Obituary

Cynthia Louise Saling, 70, of Newark, passed peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fullerton, California on March 17, 1954, to the late Billy and Marilyn (Roby) Ware.

A 1972 graduate of Sheridan High School, Cindy earned her stationary engineer license and worked for many years as an administrative assistant with Village Network Foster Care Agency.

She was very active within the 4-H Community, serving as an advisor for 33 years and equine judge for over 40 years, and enjoyed competing as a rider. Cindy also bred and raised labrador puppies.

Cindy was a OHSAA Hall of Fame Official, licensed in basketball, softball, and her favorite sport, volleyball. She officiated for over 38 years in the High School and Collegiate levels.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Larry Saling; sons, Jeremy (Regran) Saling, Jared (Kim) Saling, and Josh (Naysa) Saling; 9 grandchildren, Taylor Saling, Tanner Wells, Brooklyn Nazario, Caleb Saling, Mattison Saling, Avery Mueller, Hailey Mueller, Zane Saling, and Corrine Saling; siblings, Terri (Murrell) Fisher, Miachel (Debra) Ware, Tammy Ware, Danny Ware, Mark (Barb) Hinerman, Stuart (Carissa) Hinerman, Laura Hinerman (John) Beard and Kathy Fretwell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Rhonda) Saling, Charlie (Roberta) Scott, and Rose Scott; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Hinerman; sister, Rebecca Ware; brother, Gary Ware; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane Hoover, and Donald (Kay) Saling.

Calling hours celebrating the life of Cindy will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2024, with a Vigil Service held at 6:30 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Wednesday,  December 18, 2024, with Fr. Anthony Lonzo as celebrant. A private inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be made in her memory to the Blessed Sacrament School at 394 E. Main St, Newark, OH 43055.
