A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Maurice Hohman, 90, of Granville, will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 12 Noon, Friday, August 7, with Fr. Timothy Hayes as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Mattingly Settlement, Nashport.

Charles, a United States Army Reservist, passed away, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, August 3, 2026. He was born in Frazeysburg, Ohio on December 18, 1935, the first of five children born to Clement and Marie (Noll) Hohman.

A graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School, Charles earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1967 and his MBA from Ohio University in 1982. He retired in 1995 as the director of Owens Corning Fiberglas following 32 years of service.

Charles embodied many positive qualities that he instilled in those around him. His hard work ethic and diligence with responsibilities were evident in many aspects of his life. As a longtime parishioner of St. Edward Catholic Church, Charles served as a member of parish council in addition to being a Eucharistic Minister and usher. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Michael J. Ready Assembly 830, volunteering for many spaghetti and fish fry dinners, and running their Speedball Booth at countless festivals.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, JoAnn (Smith) Hohman, daughter, Anne Hohman, and son Michael (Christina) Hohman; grandson, Jason Hohman; brothers, Richard (Sharon) Hohman and Dale (Connie) Hohman; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his infant brother, Lawrence, and infant sister, Dorothy.

Calling will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, August 6, 2026, with Honor Guard provided by the Knights of Columbus Bishop Michael J. Ready Assembly 830. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Calling hours will also be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
