A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Catherine Shirley Linn, 87, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 12 Noon, Tuesday, May 11, 2021, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Catherine, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church, died at her home on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.  She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 13, 1933, to the late Harry W. and Catherine M. (Frischen) Bowers.

Catherine graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School and worked at Owens Corning, the Astro Plant, and the Licking Laundry. She also enjoyed being a member of the "Dairy Bar Gang" and was an avid card player. In addition, she loved cooking, canning, gardening, and camping.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Donald Linn (Raelene Scanlon), Chris (Kim) Linn, Diane Hupp, and Carolyn Linn; daughter-in-law, Sandy Quick; brother, Robert Bowers; sister-in-law, Mary Wells; special friend, Bonnie Linn Overton; and 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Linn; sons, Chuck Linn, Philip "Mike" Linn, and Edwin Quick; brothers, Harry (Patsy) Bowers, and Kenneth Bowers; sister, Norma Jean (Paul) Crawmer; brother-in-law, Phil Linn; sister-in-law, Carolyn Park; daughter-in-law, Linda Linn, and longtime special friends, Virginia Pierce, Charlotte Powell, and Kate West.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Monday, May 10, 2021, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
