Funeral services celebrating the life of Carole Ann Kerner, 86, of Newark, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 10 A.M., Monday, July 28, 2025, with Fr. Michael Gentry as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Carole, a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, died peacefully at Altercare Newark North on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was born in Newark, Ohio on April 21, 1939, to the late Dalton O. and H. Elizabeth (Gerberich) McLaughlin.

A 1957 graduate of Newark High School, Carole worked for many years in the dental office of her late husband, William D. Kerner DDS. She loved to work in the garden and create floral arrangements for the home. She enjoyed traveling and looked forward to her yearly visits to Costa Rica.

Carole is survived by her granddaughter, Jessica (Andy) Kuhnash; grandson, Levi Miltimore (Taylor Maddy); great-grandchildren, Mia and Arthur "Artie" Kuhnash; brother, Garry L. McLaughlin; sisters, Marilyn K. Hall and Marjorie S. (Bill) Eaton; and longtime companion Fred Pryor.

In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Kerner; daughter, Ann E. (Scott) Miltimore; and brothers, Jack. A and George McLaughlin.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2-4 P.M., Sunday, July 27.
