Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Carol Ann Doneff, 75, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 11 A.M, Tuesday, February 25, 2020, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Carol passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 15, 2020. She was born in Newark on March 26, 1944 to the late Edward and Marie (Canale) Doneff. Carol attended St. Francis de Sales School; she and her fellow classmates were the first Freshman class at Newark Catholic High School, graduating in 1962.

Carol is celebrated for her creative, artistic, fun-loving and generous spirit. Carol completed cosmetology school and became a successful hair stylist. Later she moved into a banking and investment career where she developed lasting friendships with both co-workers and clients. In these years she enjoyed traveling, dancing and sharing fun experiences. Throughout her life Carol continued to develop her gifted artistic expression through many hobbies and crafting enterprises. She was an interior designer, a professional jewelry maker, an accomplished seamstress, a watercolor artist, and she created beautiful floral arrangements.

Carol always loved to be around people. She had a talent for remembering names and engaged in conversation with everyone she met. She cherished her many friendships and loved her family. She was a devoted caretaker for her mother for many years and the two shared a very close bond. She is survived by her siblings, Chris J. Doneff, John E. Doneff, and Vicki (John) Pressey; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
