A Funeral Mass for Bryan S. Raftery, 50, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 7, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.
Bryan, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at his home on Saturday, January 4, 2014. He was born in Newark, Ohio on January 23, 1963 to Johanna Skinner (Frank L.) Hall of Newark, and the late D. Richard Raftery.
Bryan, an avid Bengals fan, was a 1981 graduate of Heath High School and worked as an independent contractor. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing pool.
In addition to his mother and step-father, Bryan is survived by his siblings, Mark (Lisa) Raftery of Bright, Indiana, John Raftery of Newark, Doug Raftery of St. Louisville, and Kathleen (Tad) Ford of Granville; step-siblings, Kenneth (Carol) Hall, Christine Webster, Mike (Diana) Hall, Kacie Pintz, and Melissa Hall; several aunts and uncles; cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Bryan was preceded in death by his step-brother, Roger Hall.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Monday, January 6, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
