Obituary

Funeral services for Beverly Jean Amspaugh, 77, of Thornville, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Dr., Newark, 1 P.M., Monday, September 29, 2025, with Fr. Anish Thomas as celebrant. Calling will be held from 11-1P.M., Monday, prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark.

Beverly passed away peacefully at Altercare of Thornville on Thursday, September 25, 2025.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 18, 1948, to the late Joseph F. and Isabelle (Bellor) Knack. Bev moved with her family to Newark, Ohio, as a child before settling in Frazeysburg, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and community.

A 1966 graduate of Newark Catholic High School, Bev was a dedicated employee of Longaberger, where she worked for more than 15 years as both a basket maker and quality controller. Known for her steady hands and keen eye, she took great pride in her craft. Outside of work, Bev enjoyed camping adventures with her family, sharing home-cooked meals, and tending to her beautiful garden.

Bev's greatest joy was helping others—whether running errands for a neighbor, cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, or preparing a warm meal for family and friends. She never met a stranger and poured boundless love and kindness into the world, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

She will be greatly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Amspaugh, Kevin (Barb) Amspaugh, and Kenney (Anne) Amspaugh; her beloved grandchildren, Rylea Amspaugh (Daniel Orndorff), Cameron (Lexi) Amspaugh, Corey (Brooklyn) Amspaugh, Samantha Amspaugh, and Joey Amspaugh; her sisters, Dyann (Frank) Keaser, Elaine (James) Boyer, and Deborah Cain; and sister-in-law, Louann Knack.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Dale Knack; and cherished brother-in-law, Tony Cain.

Memorials in Beverly's name can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
