Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Faye Radley, 83, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 9, 2018, with Rev. Scott Campbell as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11 A.M.-1 P.M. Friday, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Betty died at her home on Monday, February 5, 2018. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on June 1, 1934, to the late Carl and Eva Pearl (Burgess) Goosby.
Betty was a longtime parishioner of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Esther's Circle and worked the bereavement meals for many years.
Betty was an artist who utilized her talents in many capacities. Over the years she enjoyed working with ceramics and even taught several classes in the local area. She was also widely known for her cake decorating and catering services. For several years, Betty worked as a hostess at the Golden Wok.
Betty is survived by her husband of 28 years, Harry William Radley; her children, Joseph (Gale) Williams Jr., Cheri Lewis; and Michele (Mark) Blasczyk; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sharon (Bud) Gangloff; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Williams Sr; and her siblings, James (Annie Ruth) Goosby, Charles (Peggy) Goosby, and Margie (Ronald) Grant.
The family requests memorials in Betty's name be made to the First United Methodist Church, 88 N. 5 th Street, Newark, Ohio 43055; or the American Cancer Society Central Ohio Chapter, 5555 Frantz Rd, Dublin, OH 43017.
