Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty J. Ohler, 98, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:15 A.M., Thursday, January 20, 2022, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Due to COVID-19, masks are required while attending services.

Betty died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, January 17, 2022.  She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 27, 1923, to the late Frank and Bertha (Love) Noblick.

A 1941 graduate of Newark High School, Betty received her degree in nursing from the Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in 1945.  Over the years she worked as an RN with Newark Hospital, the offices of Dr. Bishop and Dr. Fleish, Newark Healthcare, and retired as a home health nurse.

A longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Betty was instrumental in the development of their "Blood Pressure Sundays" as part of the Parish Health Ministry and the Padre Pio Prayer Group.

She will be greatly missed by her children, David Ohler, Barb (Tom) Wheeler, and Susan Cochran (Jeff Tolley); son-in-law, Arnel (Tita) Capulong; grandchildren, Dave, Denise (Steve), Sarah, Tony, Adrin, Aleco, Dustin (Lori Anne), Tommy (Jen), and Andrea; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Mary Lucille Noblick; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Ohler; son, Joseph Ohler; daughter, Mary Ann Capulong; daughter-in-law, Brenda Ohler; siblings, Frank "Bud" Noblick, Jim Noblick, Robert (Mary) Noblick, and Dorothy (Carl) Olds.

Memorials in Betty's name can be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 40 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio 43055.
