Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Berna "Jeanne" Nance, 80, of Newark, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 14, 2025, with Fr. Michael Gentry as celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

Jeanne, a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament, passed away at The Inn at Chapel Grove on Friday, November 7, 2025.  She was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 8, 1944, to the late Curtis and Joan (Bell) Kelso.

A 1963 graduate of Central High School, Jeanne attended Columbus State Community College and worked for many years as an administrative assistant with the Southwest Licking School District and also as an executive secretary with the State of Ohio.

Jeanne enjoyed being a member of "Mom's Club" and valued the longtime friendships that were made. She was very talented and creative, sharing her special gift of music as a vocalist with the Capitol Showcase Chorus and the Sweet Adelines.

Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially the many years of traveling she did with her beloved husband, and high-school sweetheart, Bernie. She cherished her grandchildren and was always one of their biggest fans.

She will be greatly missed by her loving devoted husband of 60 years, Bernard Nance; children, Gina DiSabato (Molly), Khristina Zweydorff, and Fred (Wendy) Nance; grandchildren Chelsea Tighe (Roy), Carissa Mee, Delaney Zweydorff (Eric), Rileigh Zweydorff, Hunter Nance (Morgan), Drake Nance (Madison), Fischer Nance (Courtney), five great-grandchildren (with one more on the way), Kambria, EJ, Nolan, Ember, Atlas and Ivy Jean;  her sister, Bobbie Taylor (Gary); and many other loving family members.

Friends and family may call at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 4-7 P.M., Thursday, November 13, 2025, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M.
