Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Barbara Jean Hufford, 81, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1 P.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2022, with Fr. Robert E. Willmann, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11-1 P.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2022, prior to the funeral service.

Barbara Jean, a 1959 graduate of Newark Catholic High School, died at her home on Thursday, March 24, 2022.  She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on December 8, 1940, to the late John O. and Anna (Allen) Cordle Sr.

Barbara worked in the catalogue department of the Sears Company for many years and was also an aide with the Licking County Aging Program.  She was a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and gardening.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Chad Hufford, James (Sherri) Hufford, Joyce Ann (Jerry) Armstrong, Barb (Mike) Abrams, Mary Janine Nemeth, and Steve Hufford; step-children, Terri Berger and Leslie Brown; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren with another soon to be born; 6 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mike (Kathy) Cordle, Joyce Ann Cost, and Pam (Walt) Weisgerber; sister-in-law, Carol Cordle; brother-in-law, George Minton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Hufford; her son, Charles B. Hufford; step-daughter, Johanna Satterfield; granddaughter, Deanna Dawn; great-grandson, Daniel Uguene.  brother, John O. Cordle Jr.; sister, Connie D. Minton; and brothers-in-law, Steve Cost and Earl Marshall.
