Funeral services for Anna J. Norman, 97, and her husband, Harry D. Norman, 96, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 9, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Private Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Ann, a St. Francis de Sales High School graduate, died at the Arlington Care Center on Friday, October 3, 2014. She was born in Newark, Ohio on October 23, 1916 to the late Vito and Angelina (Percoco) Leogrande.

Ann was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a member of the ARC Club, Women of St. Francis, and volunteered with the Ministry of Comfort and News and Views. She was also very active with the Sons of Italy Rinascimento Lodge for many years.

Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband, and together the two of them visited many baseball stadiums across the United States. She was an extremely friendly person who never met a stranger. Ann was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took great joy in caring for her family. Above all, her family and her faith were the most important.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Anne and Bruce Bain; her granddaughter, Sheila Nixon; her great-granddaughter, Melena Nixon; her brother, Victor Leogrande, all of Newark; her sister, Helen Jones of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Diana Welsh Rogers, who over the years Ann and Harry always referred to as their third daughter

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Harry D. Norman, just 6 hours prior to her own passing. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Norman; her siblings, Ernest Leogrande, Albert Leogrande, Lena Leogrande, Kate (Ralph) Grove, sister-in-law, Betty Leogrande.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5-8 P.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The Sons of Italy will hold a service during calling on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to St Francis de Sales Catholic Church or the Sons of Italy Rinascimento Lodge.
