A Funeral Mass for Alice "Boots" Anita Lannan, 89, of Newark, will be held at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Alice died at the Kindred Care & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. She was born in Newark on September 8, 1927 to the late William and Mary Isabel (Morris) Lavery.

Alice was a lifelong member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament where she was a past president of the Marian Club and volunteer at Blessed Sacrament School. A Newark High School graduate, Boots was a Buckeye Girls State Advisor, and a past President of the American Legion. She was also a member of the Owenettes and card club. Alice also helped organize and set up many reunions for her husband's Army groups. Alice also worked as a waitress and manager for many years at the Golden Wok and Alibi.

Alice is survived by her children, James "Doug" Lannan, Jefffrey (Betty) Lannan, Barbara (Scott) Richards and John Lannan; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister Katherine Smith; sister-in-law Cynthia Lannan and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years in March 2016, James W. Lannan; her brother William Lavery, sisters-in-law Helen Lavery and Jean Lannan; and brothers-in-law, Robert, John and Edward Lannan.

Friends and family may call from 5-8 P.M, Friday, November 11, 2016 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
