Alex died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Friday, May 5, 2017. He was born in Rome, New York on November 14, 1952 to Lois (Johnson) Rolletta of Newark and the late Alexander J. Rolletta Jr.
Alex was a 1970 graduate of Newark Catholic High School and received his BS in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He worked for several years as an accountant in the area and also taught courses at COTC.
Following the birth of his son, Alex devoted his time to his young family, and became a stay at home dad. This was his greatest joy.
Alex was an avid swimmer and had coached several teams at the YMCA. He also loved the sport of tennis and was a longtime supporter of the Denison University men's tennis team. He especially enjoyed the times he was on the court with both his father and his son.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Bonnie (Thompson) Rolletta; son, Alexander J. Rolletta IV; sister, Sandra Rolletta; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William "Bill" and Mary Thompson; sister-in-law, Jerri (Todd) Thompson; aunt, Karen (Vincent) Fiaschetti; many cousins; and nieces and nephews.
